March: A Journey of Triumphs and Trials
The Story of Sofonie Dala, UK Alumni
From March 2024 to March 2026, the month of March has carried profound significance in the academic and personal journey of Sofonie Dala. It has been a season of both remarkable achievements and painful setbacks, shaping her legacy as a student and alumna of the United Kingdom.
In March 2026, Sofonie officially became a recognized UK alumna, receiving a Certificate of Merit from the British Consul. On March 28, she formally parted ways with the University of York, a decision rooted in circumstances previously shared. This milestone marked both an ending and a new beginning.
GOOD NEWS

Sofonie Dala was warmly welcomed at the University of Cambridge
Although her academic journey at the University of York did not succeed, Sofonie Dala was warmly welcomed at the University of Cambridge, where she successfully completed her studies in the United Kingdom. As part of the Democratising Education for Global Sustainability and Justice (DemEd Global) Team, she was awarded a full bursary to participate in prestigious programs such as Key Essentials: The Wealth Economy, Sustainable Development and the Law, Key Essentials: Trade Rules, Sustainable Development and the Law, and The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Sustainable Development and the Law. These experiences not only marked the successful conclusion of her academic path in the UK but also positioned her as a voice for justice, sustainability, and global education reform.
Conclusion: The Dual Face of March
The month of March has proven to be both a season of powerful victories and painful losses. Some news brought joy and recognition, while others carried injustice and disappointment. Yet through it all, Sofonie Dala’s resilience, service, and commitment to education and community have remained unwavering.
