November 11: A Day to Remember

 Two Freedoms, One Day

Dear friends,

I’m now in Angola, celebrating the 11th of November — the historic Independence Day of 1975 — here in 2025.

Coincidentally, this date also marks Remembrance Day in the United Kingdom. I recall observing this solemn day while living in York, a time for deep reflection and gratitude.

Echoes of Freedom and Remembrance

Remembrance Sunday offers a national moment to honor the service and sacrifice of all those who have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.

Today, standing in Angola, I feel a profound connection between these two commemorations — both celebrating freedom, resilience, and the courage of those who came before us.
